Rovidone ® eye drops is a sterile ophthalmic solution contains Povidone, a synthetic polymer with electrolytes (inorganic salts). Povidone and the electrolytes magnesium, potassium and sodium, is very similar to natural tears.

Rovidone ® eye drops is indicated for the symptomatic treatment of dry eye conditions including kerato conjunctivitis sicca. lt is also used as a substitute of tear fluid in case of unstable tear film or insufficient moistening of the eye surface.

One drop 4 times daily or as required or depending upon the severity of the disease, to be instilled into the conjunctival sac.

Safety of use of Povidone eye drops during pregnancy and lactation has not been established. Caution should be exercised when Povidone eye drops is administered during pregnancy and lactation.

Patients who experience blurred vision after application of Povidone eye drops should not drive or use machinery until their vision has cleared.

Warnings
Patients should be advised not to worn contact lenses during instillation of the Povidone eye drops. After instillation there should be an interval of at least 30 minutes before reinsertion of contact lenses

Generally Povidone eye drops is well tolerated. However, this drug occasionally causes mild-transient burning or sticky sensation and very rarely irritation. Blurred vision after application may occur.

Povidone eye-drops is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to Povidone or any other ingredients of this preparation.

ln case of any additional local ocular treatment (e.g. glaucoma) therapy there should be an application interval of at least 5 minutes between two medications. Povidone eye-drops always should be the last medication instilled.
